No matter what you love to do, you can do it in Curwensville. Hike, swim, camp or
go boating at the lake. Socialize at the summer festivals. There's always exciting
things to do in Curwensville. For instance...
Every Memorial Day, Curwensville Lake opens for business. With 2,100 acres of
land and 800 acres of water, the lake has something to offer everyone. Fishing,
camping, hiking, swimming, boating, water skiing, scuba diving and more. There
are no horsepower restrictions at the lake. Five (lighted) picnic pavilions, electric
and charcoal grills,two hundred picnic tables, forty RV sites, twenty four primitive
sites for tent camping, six children's play structures and a popular beach with life
guards on duty. Volleyball courts, soccer fields, miles of hiking trails and a super
team of people who maintain the area. Does the lake close for the winter? Heck
no! There's ice fishing and ice skating! Curwensville Lake has something for the
entire family. By the way, bring your pets, they're family members, too!

There are four state parks within 45 minutes of Clearfield, the county seat.
Boating enthusiasts can take a canoe or kayak trip down the West Branch
of the Susquehanna River from Cherry Tree to Karthaus, paddling down
water trails once used by Indians and later by enterprising raftsmen. Take
time to explore Bilger's Rocks located just outside of Grampian, with giant
sandstone formations and even an ice cave. View herds of magnificent elk
and other wildlife through your camera lens or binoculars. Plus! Clearfield
County has several golf courses with a variety of terrains, for golfers of all
skill levels. For family rest and relaxation there are many community parks
throughout the county, perfect for a picnic and playtime.

Museums, exhibits and outdoor displays around the county are filled with stories
about our county's social and cultural history.The live performances at the Reitz
Theatre in DuBois and the Clearfield Arts Theatre will entertain the entire family.
Live concerts, plays and other events feature the area's finest talent. For those
desiring a glimpse into the area's nightlife, one will find that many clubs and fine
restaurants offer spirits and outstanding entertainment. Just a few miles outside
of Clearfield is a great Drive-In theatre, one of few still operating in the state. An
old county jail dating back to 1870 is also an interesting 'must see'. Contact the
